You are led into what is, honestly, a pretty unassuming room. You were expecting something a bit more impressive, more ostentatious. The Historian simply gives you a look and closes the door, presumably going back to their desk. Rude. But you don’t know what else you should have been expecting.
There’s a nice large table in the middle of the room. It seems like the library is laid out roughly chronologically, and you take a bit of a browse. There’s not actually much about the city itself – though records on other areas seem reasonably complete. That’s a little odd – when you sent your request, you were clear that the local history is what you were coming to investigate. There’s such a lack of local records in the underside. As you browse, you see a column of honeycomb nooks near the back, labeled “The City”. This must be all they have.
You take a look around – each nook bears a title, and there’s a scroll held in each. There’s a title underneath each one. Other than that, they look pretty much the same. Which one do you want to investigate first?
- One has a light feather and some discolouration
- One is on red parchment
- One is labelled “Zephyria”
- One appears to have been pecked up quite badly
- One is labeled “The Floating City”
- One is covered in dirt
- One is labeled “Spycraft”
- One isn’t a scroll at all — it appears to be some sort of electronic tablet
You pick it up and take it back to the table, before slowly unrolling the aged parchment.
