“I have been looking for you for ages. I’m not letting you out of my sight again.”
I am immediately pulled into an embrace, although not quite warm. I think the fact that I am hugging an alien might have an effect on that. Nonetheless, my heart seems to remember the significance of this being. The way AZ4 speaks to me leads me to believe we must have had a romantic relationship that I have forgotten. However, with their sugar sweet voice, AZ4 whispers,
“You do remember the plan, right?”
I barely remember who I am. What in the world are they talking about? After seeing the confusion on my face, AZ4 begins to look frustrated and anxious. This must have been an important plan. Rather than waiting for me to remember, AZ4 takes me into the back of a secure room which I assume we are in their mansion. They waste no time to explain the assassination I had apparently planned with them prior to reaching the underground. They tell me I almost got caught, and that was how I ended up in the underground in the first place. I refused to reveal the plan so AZ4 would not get caught, and the civilians threw me off the edge of the floating city.
I only survived because my pigeon instincts didn’t leave me at that point. I flew down but I must have lost consciousness at some point. My head must have hit the ground hard enough to forget my past, but at least I didn’t die. AZ4 brought me back to follow through with our original plan. AZ4’s alien family rule and uphold the floating city. AZ4 thought the city was hardly enough. They wanted to be in control of the neglected underground too, ruling human and pigeon civilization. I am not sure how I feel about this. Those people need support, not to be controlled. But the power…
“This is really important. Are you even listening to me? You promised to help me, remember?”
