IS Entry No. 6: Twine Troubleshooting

So let’s say I hypothetically just started importing my story into Twine…

Feeling a little panicked considering how much time we have left on the project and because I’m a complete procrastinator/perfectionist I feel like I could still spend another 20 hours fixing elements of my story. I have the smallest bit of experience with Python, so I was betting on the software having a similar coding language. Well I watched some really basic YouTube tutorials, and uhhh turns out I either don’t remember enough of my very rudimentary comp sci knowledge, or this is completely different syntax to Python.

It seems really straightforward to get the framework for a basic interactive story, similar to using this blog to hyperlink passages. However, the longer I spent in the story development side of the project the more ideas I began imagining for the interactivity. I’m now realizing that I may be in over my head, but I’m married to some of these ideas now 🙁 I’m going to continue watching and Googling some more tutorials on how to get started.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Twine is definitely not similar as far as syntax to twine — but hopefully some of the concepts carried over OK!
