Stay Underground

My mind goes blank, I can’t believe what I am hearing, nothing this creature is saying makes a shred of sense. It continues to speak, but I’m not listening, instead I’m thinking if I’m in danger or not. Does this creature have a weapon? Does it even need one to hurt me? Will it attack me if I run? My eyes dart around looking for a potential escape route. It’s still droning on and on, but I think it’s starting to realize that I’m not paying attention. I have to make my move soon, I don’t want to even know where this thing wants to take me. It asks if I am listening, in response I hit the creature in what I think is its face. It releases my arm and stumbles back in a daze. I take this opportunity to get as far away from it as possible. I dash into a narrow corridor with various bits of debris scattered throughout, which I knock over to block the path. I think the creature tried to pursue me but was unable to do so, but I’m not entirely sure since I never looked back. I eventually reach a rather busy street, my lungs are on fire, but I think I’m safe now. I’m still not entirely sure who that was or how they knew me, but I know I’d much rather stay here and maybe even try to improve the underground city than go wherever they wanted me to go.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.
