They Decide to Trust Pirates

The pirates lead me to their ship that allows them to travel between the two lands that would otherwise be seperate. They explain that AZ4 sent them on a mission to find me after I was banished from the city in the sky. We are currently in their ship, floating through the sky with an ever closing view of the city in the sky. They turn to me with a smirk and say, “We gave you quite a fright down there, hey? You nearly jumped out of your pants”. After the bearded man’s remark, they all begin laughing in an uncontrollable, jarring manner. I try to accompany them, but I can still feel the adrenaline rushing through my body. There is a ridiculous number of burly pirates, all crammed into this little vessel. You can’t walk without bumping shoulders with each other. Regardless, they keep a very playful and light atmosphere along our journey.

The sky ship comes to a halt after almost a seemingly endless voyage. One of the pirates picks me up over their shoulder with ease and brings me up to the deck. They plop me down in front of a 10m-long board extending from the edge of the ship, and say, “Walk the plank, Jumpy”. There is only a small sliver of wood connected to the land, preventing it from falling into the abyss. My nerves through the roof, I stumble onto the frail wooden plank and struggle to lift one leg in front of the other. From behind me I hear snickering and one of the pirates yell out,“Hurry on up! I don’t know why AZ4 sent us to get’cha if you can’t walk a few steps. For goodness sake.” The pirates threaten my slow pace by shaking their end of the plank. Without a choice, I walk towards the end of the plank. Once my feet touch stable ground again, I can finally focus on where I am. The city in the sky.
