My contribution to the IFstravaganza story line was to aid my team in the creation of the overall timeline of our chunk of the story, Cinderella Assassin, as well as coming up with various chunks of the story.
From the start of the process I found myself wanting to disagree with me teammates, however I kept a “yes, and” attitude and allowed for my teammates ideas to flourish within our story line. My team and I had some disagreements as to were the story should go, this was perfect as it allowed us to create branches to the story were each one of us could work on how we wanted the story to go.
I found that breaking up the story into the gist of what happened was a good way to create a broad story whilst keeping details out, this allowed our team to break down the story line into workable chunks so that each one of our team members could have a fair amount of work to do.
The use of a blog to create an interactive story was an unexpected idea that works surprisingly well.
I believe I will be using a similar technique for planning my own IF story.
Here are the chunks of stories I created:
Broke free
Maria
Meeting Maria
Lady Tremaine attends the ball
Lord Fartimore
Mission Impossible
