Getting Involved

You hesitantly rip away the tape silencing her, hoping that this isn’t a grave mistake you’ll later regret. 

She looks surprised to see someone unfamiliar but then begins to make her case. “I’m the Chief Scientist for Zephyria, or at least I was…” she trails off momentarily. 

She speaks quickly as if the words can’t come out any faster, “I’m the geneticist that made the cloud city possible. I never meant to hurt all those people, they told me this was the only way to help preserve the human species from becoming obsolete.” 

You attempt to understand everything at once but have a million questions running through your mind. What was she talking about? This didn’t make sense to you. Everyone knows that Zephyria was chosen by fate to be the last remaining people graced with the gift of flight. 

The scientist pleads for your help and tells you there isn’t much time left. Her name is Mary S., and she is in grave danger as those same men from the government will be back at any moment to dispose of her once and for all.

Untie her and help her get to safety. You’ll get more answers in time, she clearly needs your help and there’s something that makes you feel as if you can trust her.

Let her rot. You put the tape back over her mouth and run back through the doors to your awaiting dinner. You hardly know this person and the claims she’s made make no sense based on everything you’ve ever been told.

Rat her out. You get the attention from those men. She’s clearly a criminal if the government wants her dead, and you certainly are not going to help a fugitive. Instead, maybe you’ll be rewarded for this and be set for life!
