For this story idea, the core concept would be to take the player through a familiar classic storybook but allow them to make choices within the storyline and the ending. This will allow the player to take a different route to the story they grew up hearing and knowing into one where they have somewhat control over the actions of their character and the decisions that they make. However, while doing so, the player will inevitably endure the consequences of their actions and choices.
In terms of the story components, the main character in this story will be “Snow white” or “Snow warrior” depending on whether or not the player choses a love story or revenge story. The characters within the story will remain the same which would include the 7 dwarfs, the huntsman, prince charming and the queen. What makes these characters interesting and compelling is that their actions will not follow the classic storyline of what they typically do. For instance the huntsman may end up falling in love with snow white instead of prince charming. Or, snow white may decide to poison the queen instead of it being the other way around.
Possible way it may be played out is as follows:
Player choses revenge or love
A revenge story- Princess that seeks revenge – Meets the huntsman and plots revenge on the queen.
A love story- Warrior that seeks love – Snow “warrior” trains with her “dwarfs” and ends up falling in love with (the huntsman, one of the dwarfs, prince charming etc. OR falls in love and forms a connection with something/someone)
