After careful considerations, I decided to go with my escape room idea. I felt that this kind of narrative can be easily implemented into the blog posts more than a dating sim could.
The notes below are the brainstorming and the beginning stages of my final interactive story. I started out with brainstorming what the overall theme of the escape narrative could be. In my previous brainstorming post, I included a couple inspirations for escape room type games and there is one that has, in my opinion, a really creative story. After I had decided the general theme of my story, I began to write out an basic outline of the plot and how I want it to go. Considering that it’s an escape room, the plot line isn’t too complicated, pretty self-explanatory, and straightforward. So I want to included other elements to the story that will make it more interesting for the player. What I have though of so far is including multiple characters that can either help or misguide the player; depending on the player’s choices, the characters influence the player’s ending.
The next step for my planning is to make a detailed map of my entire story.
