This has literally nothing to do with my interactive story, but this early Elsa concept art by Claire Keane is too cool not to share!

There’s just so much to this art piece. The way Anna is very curvy and dainty, and how her posture is straight but more to herself, and her strikingly orange hair which seems even warmer surrounded by all the cool colors–its very much like the typical sheltered princess. On the other hand, Elsa’s features are very angular, and her features are sharp (like her nose and jaws) as well has her pointy tiara, and the way her white dress is so out of place with all the saturated, dark colors– its such a great design! One thing I’ve always heard artists say when it comes to character design is that the character should be noticeable just from the silhouette, and I think this design definitely passes the test.

Apparently, in its early stages, Frozen was going to based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen. That would explain why Elsa looked so different in the concept art!
