Universe Context and Main Character

So within this universe there are 8 scientists on a space station who has the goal to create a way to transfer human conscious into an android to live on after death.

Different scientists took different approaches of sentience vs non-sentient beings.

The scientists making sentient prototypes (and therefore also killing) experiments were leaked and created a lot of pressure from the public as well as internal conflict etc etc.

So this space station is limited space with 9 people alone very stressed about their work and arguing amongst themselves, becoming paranoid and what not.

The scientist then subsequently died/escaped and presumably died there and left behind only one fully functional android, the main character. (As this happened less recently, making the player wake up after everyone is all gone).

The main character is an android where the scientist took a new approach to transferring a human consciousness, through using memories as a building block. Because this was a new prototype it wasn’t that successful and thats why the main character is sentient and its own person, as well as someone who has broken conflict memories.

The decision not to have them be able to talk is the idea that it was a feature that would’ve been added in the future, but never happened.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

I really like the idea you have for your player character, it reminds me a lot of the game SOMA. I feel like you could really do a lot with this premise and maybe explore themes pertaining to identity and human consciousness. I think Star Trek: The Next Generation also has good philosophical debates surrounding AIs and free will with its character Data.

I will look into SOMA thank you!
Yes for sure Data is my favourite character and his existence and court scene was such a big inspo for me :)!
