Story inspiration

My entire story is inspired by a American TV series called The Boy. The Boys is an American dark superhero television series developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video. But I also adapted this story by my own thoughts, the main character in my story is a teenager, he is a senior high school student. I describe this main character as a passionate teenager hold positive attitudes towards superheroes he admires but hold negative attitudes towards his life. His life is in a mess and he hopes that he wants to be a superhero someday to fight crimes, it is a little bit of tricky since he even cannot take a good care of his own life then how come could he fight crimes someday? So I used this contradiction to shape this character, then in this way I could trigger players curiosity to continue this game and to engage themselves into this story. In a word, this main character is a kind of childish and foolish. But the main character in this TV series is a mature man whose girlfriend being killed by a superhero accidentally. To revenge those superheroes he pretend to accept reparation for her girlfriend death. I don’t wanna use a mature man as a main character since I want to use teenager’s innocence at first and his deep understanding to this world at last to make players realize that this is not a black and white world with a very clear distinction. Anyone works for interests and benefits. This main character is innocent but he will have a new understanding at the end of the story.

I tried my best to adapt this story so that I can express my thoughts. I also make a preface to this story at the very first beginning so that readers could have a whole understanding to this story. I was also inspired by a scientific novel, I cannot remember its name but I can vividly remember the structure of this book. It has preface to help readers catch what was going on at the very first beginning of this novel, so that readers don’t need to read this book without any background.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Wow, what an interesting concept. I like your character development that you mentioned here with the innocence of the teenager. It’s true that many teenagers find their sense of morality as they get older, and I think it will be interesting to see how these factors will affect his development. If you like “The Boys” TV show, I highly recommend reading the comic book series “The Watchmen” by Alan Moore. The TV series draws a lot of inspiration from it and it’s overall a great read if you like comics. Good luck on your story!

I think your adaptation of the character creates a lot more depth! I think that is a really good method to further immerse your player into the story you want to create, as they would be growing alongside with the character.
This shift will also make your game more relatable to a teenage audience as well! Going through one’s teenage years and growing up is definitely not a straight path, as we face a lot of obstacles and changes along the way, so I think you’re doing good by incorporating that. I look forward to seeing how your plan turns out!
