Progress Update

The fixation is slowly wearing off and I’m getting tired. Nonetheless, I power through! This week I couldn’t make as much progress as I was ill from my booster shot, had work, and also stayed away to help my family with no wifi on my laptop (which gave me a chance to solely focus on editing my previous code).

All the code so far should be working without any issues, except for one minor background on two passages, which I plan to fix with make the background and image instead of the built-in gradient tool.

My younger brother is 7 and has been a great game tester, as him reading slowly out loud lets me hear my mistakes. However, both our attention spans aren’t the best so it doesn’t last that long!

On the left, you can see all the story I have added so far, versus what I have left in my Miro on the right.

All that is left to write is investigating the captain’s room, the bridge, the airlock, and the endings. Then I can go through each room, add small dialogue, add the final monologues, and maybe figure out how to have multiple audios in one passage if I’m lucky.

I swear I’m going to finish in time!!!!

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Love the passion you have for you project. Don’t worry, I’m struggling through the burn out too! I love how you asked your brother to test it out.

That’s not only really wholesome, but it’s super nice to have a different opinion on your work after you’re the only one that has worked on it (especially if they’re a lot younger than you). They can pick out flaws that you might have not realized, or they might give you feedback on what you should add. Overall it’s a win win scenario for you as a developer 🙂

I’m excited to see the final project- you’ve been doing a great job, so keep it up!

Woah! I haven’t even read the post yet, I just saw the tangle of connections in your story there and was very impressed. It looks like you’ll have a good chunk of content for readers/players to try in your project. I wish I had siblings young enough to try out what I’ve been working on. Everyone I know that is willing to try out my project gives a fairly unenthused “looks good to me” when I show them stuff or have them try it out. I’m excited to see this presented!
