I was discussing this with a few classmates the other day but I felt like me deceiving my player into thinking these scenarios they are put in are dangerous when they are actually safe is a little problematic. I thought this because a lot of my story is centred around a realistic, everyday experience, and I don’t want to seem like I am invalidating any fears or precautions that people may take to stay safe. For example, getting into a taxi where the driver seems a little suspicious. In my story, this would all be in the player’s head, but in real life, this is something someone shouldn’t just overlook because they think it’s in their head. I was trying to think of ways I could work around this.
Luckily, through the feedback I got on my proposal, I was given some advice on how to reconstruct my choice options to give the player more freedom to make a safer option. Using this feedback, I will have to alter my plan a little bit for this, but I will share the updated mindmap as soon as it is ready!
