Outlast

Thoughts on outlast
The advantage is that the horror atmosphere is very well created, and the gloomy scenes and some inescapable protruding faces are really full of horror; the psychological pressure that makes you have to go back after you have escaped from a place is huge; opening the door and opening the cabinet often There are people who are chasing you and you meet. The operation of the park outside the hospital to see the road by lightning gave me an unexpected surprise. It is obviously more terrifying when it is outdoors.
The disadvantage is that the chasing battle is not very oppressive, the protagonist does not run fast, and the monster is basically the same speed as the protagonist. If the monster does not start chasing you, it is the most terrifying time. When he starts chasing you, it is not so terrifying. . Then there is the level setting, the map is not easy to remember, and it is almost always face to face, which can be said to be the most difficult.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Yeah horror games definitely have an advantage when it comes to scaring players since you are in complete control of the protagonist being chased by the enemy, which is terrifying all in itself. Of course some might not see that as interactive since in order to have a horror element there must be a genuine threat of death. This is usually done by making the protagonist extremely underpowered or flat out unable to fight, which can be seen as limiting as some as your choices at that point are usually just run or hide.
