After the interview, there is a little moment of debriefing (A7), before decide what their next course of action is. I have also shares all of the optional texts that the reader can choose. They are A) I go to the Lafferty Family Home (A8), B) I go to the Ron’s House (A9), C) I go to the Dan’s House (A10). Here is what I wrote, I hope you enjoy!

Bill and I leave the room. I propose a next course of action,
“Let’s find all of their addresses, and get cops there immediately”.
Bill then responds,
“We’re not falling for the ‘bearded strangers’ story are we?”
I then express my point of view,
“I don’t doubt you saw plenty of beards when you were in Vegas, but here the church vigorously discourages them, so it could be meaningful. Who .. who were these outsiders, and if so, from where?”
Bill retorts,
“What it means, is that Allen is trying to distract us with his clean shave. When a wife shows up dead, who’s always suspect number one? The husband, and why, because it always is god damn him”.
“Language, please”, I say as an immediate jerk reaction.
Bill continues,
“Look everything that I see here points to guilt. But if you want to look around, fine”

A8_I go to the Lafferty Family Home
When arriving at the Lafferty home, I am struck by not only its size, but also the huge lot of land that it is placed on. If this family’s status is as large as its house, it’s no wonder they are well renowned people. We approach the front door, and knock a couple times. No one answers. This being an investigative business, we simply let ourselves in.
The house is a little messy, but overall very well finished. There are couches, bookshelves folded with Mormon literature, and a fully stocked kitchen. While taking pictures, we find a door that leads down to the basement. By the appearances of the equipment here, it seems that this is where the Lafferty household ran their chiropractic business. We then approach the desk, it is filled with unpaid bills, and failure to file notices. Quite odd from a family with a high reputation. At last, we take pictures of the scenes, and collect evidence before leaving.

A9_I go to the Ron Lafferty’s House
I’ve arrived at Ron’s house. It is an average size home for this community. As I walk in, there is a great feeling of silence that rests in this place. The closets and pantry are open, half empty. It seems that the family that has once lived here is long gone. A small layer of dust rests on the shelves and other wooden surfaces. I wander around, taking as many photos as possible to capture the family’s life.
What caused them to leave in such a rash manner? Where did they go? Is everyone together, or separated? These are things that I will have to keep in mind during the rest of this investigation. Unfortunately, there isn’t much left here besides large pieces of furniture, and old LDS books. Frustrated, and slightly disappointed, I decide to return to my car.

A10_I go to the Dan Lafferty’s House
I’ve arrived at Dan’s home. It is a house that is slightly smaller than average for this city. No one answers the front door, so we make our way around to the back. A porch leads to a back door, we approach it cautiously. A fellow officer feels the handle and says, “it’s unlocked”. The door gently swings open, and we all walk in.
This house feels barren. It seems like people haven’t been living here for a while. Basically all essentials are gone; clothes, kitchen supplies, food, cleaning supplies, ect. I immediately wonder why someone would just abandon their home. Before we leave, we take as many pictures as possible. Hopefully, they will help us with the investigation.
