Updates & Illustrations

As of right now, I have completed implementing my story into Twine. I included a title and end screen and all I have left to do is to create little illustrations for some parts of my story. There won’t be much art in the story but hopefully, the sprinkle of a visual aspect can kinda spice up my story and keep the players engaged.

Here’s a little preview of what the art will look like. Most of the things I’m drawing are items that you pick up throughout the story. I’m going to stick with the black and white illustrations since I thought that adding colour would take away from the horror themes.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Wow this looks awesome! I love how you’re including illustrations that add to your story but also keeps the player engaged. Super cool! Excited to see how it turns out (:

This looks so realistic! I think the drawings definitely suit the vibe of your story, and it’ll definitely help keep the player engaged. Since you mentioned that players will be picking up items throughout the story, will you have an Inventory passage that players can access to see/use what objects they’ve created? It would be cool to do that using the (if: macro!

Thank you! I don’t think I will be adding an inventory system since there isn’t much that you can pick up and keep. I should’ve been more specific but it’s more so items that you come across throughout the story that help you escape and clues that go into detail about the plot itself.

Though, I do agree that having an inventory system for items the player finds would be very cool. I think it would be beneficial for the interactive aspect of my story since my story right now is very text heavy; however, the way I wrote my story, the player does not pick up a lot of stuff and having an inventory system would be a little useless.

Wow, that looks amazing! It is so simple but it shows the image so well! I am so excited to see the rest of your art in your game!
