Dev Log #12

Hello everybody! It’s danish here. The final stretch! I have good news- and also bad news???? ACT II is finished! But also- I need to get ACT III and backtracking done :,) Soon- it’ll be done soon I swear.

As you can tell, ACT II is a lot smaller than ACT I. Not saying there is less content- however, I believe I have learned to made my code “more” efficient, such that there are less. On another note- code. Yes- code. I wanted to display more of my code. You can view it here, where I talk about “alternate text”. Essentially, I go in-depth about how when you go back to an NPC, they can display different dialogue.

NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU DON’T LIKE SPOLIERS- LOOK AWAY!

Overall updates

  • Finished ACT II!
  • Fixed up the save screen such that it displays “your game has been saved” instead of the test just disappearing
  • Inventory is still a little in progress
  • I have made it so your notebook actively, and also you can view the notes in a “Menu” button
    • For example, after learning about a new fact, there will be a prompt telling you a new note was added
  • ACT III and backtracking are in progress 🙂

That’s it for this dev log! Sorry it’s super short- but I have some programming I gotta do!
