For this game, I decided to use Twine as I thought it would be relatively simple to use. I was wrong. Throughout the process of creating this game, it became clear how much thought and technical ability it takes to pull off interactive media. There are so many elements and passages that go into even the shortest of stories. Regardless, I have purposely made my game replayable not only for the thematic message that I want the game to have but for my own technical abilities. I think taking limitations into account is always important when working on any project.

New mediums are hard! I for sure found Twine so intimidating. Interactive media seems to be so much harder than other forms of storytelling in my opinion.

I’m glad I’m not he only one who thought Twine was really confusing at first. It looked so simple! And yet- it isn’t. However, I’m glad you were able to work with this specific medium- as sometimes it’s quite difficult to choose what would “highlight” you’re story/ games the best. For example, you wouldn’t want an FPS (first person shooter) to be text based- that just seems not right. It would be interactive for the wrong reasons. Having a medium for a specific purpose is always good!
