During the interrogations, Dan ranted about the government’s tax system. These words ignited by his failed attempt to run his fathers business. At one point in the interview, he also expressed his hatred for Brenda. Always trying to reach out to his wife Matilda and meddle in their affairs. Soon after, he got caught up in his own story, and was found guilty. Dan was sentenced a life in prison.
A year later, another victim with a similar crime scene and death wounds was found. Ron Lafferty was found guilty. Not only was he charged for the recent crime, but was also found on trial to have assisted in committing Brenda and Erica’s deaths a year previous. Escaping from being found guilty gave him a boost in ego. He falsely reconciled his actions as being the will of God. It is a relief that he is now in prison, but an additional innocent life was lost.
