I’ve arrived at Dan’s home. It is a house that is slightly smaller than average for this city. No one answers the front door, so we make our way around to the back. A porch leads to a back door, we approach it cautiously. A fellow officer feels the handle and says, “it’s unlocked”. The door gently swings open, and we all walk in.
This house feels barren. It seems like people haven’t been living here for a while. Basically all essentials are gone; clothes, kitchen supplies, food, cleaning supplies, ect. I immediately wonder why someone would just abandon their home. Before we leave, we take as many pictures as possible. Hopefully, they will help us with the investigation.
