Making a Title Page

I did not really have time to incorporate visual art into the game as much as I wanted to, but I knew for sure that I wanted to create something for my title page!

I tried drawing a few things on paper and then uploading them onto Twine, but the quality just wasn’t turning out like how I wanted it to. Also, my game’s background is black so inversing the colour of black pen on white paper was also reducing the quality.

To make my life a little easier, I borrowed my best friend’s iPad for the day to make a logo. This really saved me from spending a lot of time and effort that would have come from digitizing my paper sketch. With the help of some iMovie editing, simply the Notes app on her iPad was enough to give me the outcome I was looking for!

Creating this with little artistic skill and no knowledge of how to use video editing apps, I was very satisfied with the outcome! I think it really fits the ambiance of Get Home Safe, making it seem even spookier. I am really proud of how it turned out! There is also background music playing when the player enters the title page as well which I believe also sets up the mood of the game.

I will not take any credit for making this song, but I did give credit where it was due in my game. I think it fits the intro perfectly!

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Watching the video and playing the song at the same time really delivered the spooky vibe that I think you were going for, but I question I have is if you used the entire song for the title page?
