Emotion

I wanted my story to focus on emotion that it brings to the player. I tried to use elements such as colour (in the backgrounds), dialogue and context to provide an very strange and dark emotion in specifically the beginning of the story. With a dark kinds spooky background as the player doesn’t know what they are getting themselves into (as seen below)

Then a more happy blue one as the player goes through all these happy memories in their life when they have died (As seen below)

And then a more spooky background as the story context talks about losing her father and getting abused (as seen below)

I loved how I was able to create different emotions with just the backgrounds alone. I decided to go for a more dark/ said/ depressing emotion as players are more impacted by these particular emotions and results in the player feeling bad for the character in the story.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

It is super fun that you incorporated different backgrounds into your interactive story. This can create a very unique feel and ambiance when the player is in the game. Instead of using music to create emotion, you are using visual art. A very interesting concept!
