Final Thoughts

This assignment was a rollercoaster for me, but I have to say starting was definitely the hardest part. I was so indecisive at the beginning with what my story would be about and was really doubting if it would be interesting enough. I am so glad I chose the story I did though. I have never written anything like this before, and I think I got to explore so much more within my own creativity to being it to life. The more I developed my plan, the more enthusiastic I became about working on it, and the easier it became to complete it.

Recording the sound effects was my favourite part of this whole process. I was considering using royalty-free sound effects at first, and I did have to use a few, but overall I wanted to try recording the sound effects myself. I found myself paying more attention to the noises around me more often to see if there was anything I could incorporate into my story, and it was so satisfying to include the ones I found in my story! Certain sound effects, like a car break screeching, I could not figure out how to produce myself, so I did use YouTube for that, but I think all the sounds I used really brought my story to life.

I initially decided to take this course to explore my own creative side and do a class I think I would enjoy, and luckily I filled both of those desires and even got to meet some amazing, creative, and inspirational peers while I was at it. I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing semester and I can’t wait to play through everyone’s games!
