Path changes

When completing my whole story I had to make adjustments. So in this part of the story the player discovers clues to why their father eventually commits suicide. At first I had a letter, a diary, and trashed letters that the player could discover. I realized as I was putting it together that other parts of the story needed the player to know more which resulted in me forcing the player to find the diary which gave more context to the player as a apology suicide letter didn’t provide enough context that I wanted the player to have.

Additionally in the part where I had an option for the player to respect the mothers choice of not asking her I also made it a branch that had to loop back main branch with forced the player to to discover what the mother was feeling as I felt it was an important part of the story that the player would be missing if they had not heard what the mother was feeling. Through putting the story together I realized allowing the player to make certain choices impacted the information/ context of the story they would be receiving therefore I had to make adjustments to the path.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

The branching of your story line looks very intricate and interesting! I look forward to playing it.
