The Rehearsal on HBO

There is this new show, by Nathan Fielder, creator of Nathan for you on HBO called The Rehearsal, it is still on its fifth episode, but I have only watched two. But the main reason I bring it up, is because of the premise of the show. In the first episode, we have a man named Kor who has been lying to his friend, and he wants to come clean to her. So what Nathan does is that he hires actors to act as Kor’s friend, and Kor rehearses that conversation multiple times where they account for as many scenarios as possible.

The trailer for context

At least while I was watching the first episode, it made me think of how he was taking a conversation, and turning it into an interactive story, by giving Kor a script to rehearse with different scenarios and outcomes. So in essence, if you have ever practised a conversation, where you try to plan out every scenario, then you are creating some sort of interactive story.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

This show reminds me of like a reality version of Synechdoche, New York which is not something I ever thought I would say. Here’s the trailer for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIizh6nYnTU
