As of now, I have completed the opening scenario of my game which is the art museum heist. A game I took inspiration for this scenario is a game called Payday 2. 2013. 505 Games which is a game about being a robber in a heist crew. While the game may not be the first thing I think of when I hear about interactivity in games, it most certainly allows for a lot of player choice. There are many different choices in how to approach the game from your equipment to abilities, but the biggest choice is whether you want to approach a mission with stealth, or if you want to go in guns blazing. The game has an enormous amount of options to approach each mission to allow for the player to express themselves and truly craft an experience that is their own, as every player will choose to approach each heist in a different way. I aim to incorporate this aspect of player choice into my game with the heists that they pull off. With different ways to complete the heist.

Another game that I took inspiration from is Mass effect (Legendary Edition). 2021. Electronic Arts. This game features an impressive amount of player interactivity, as it allows for the player to make a large amount of choices that can significantly impact the story. Choices can impact who lives or dies, or what alien species will help humanity in an upcoming war. The choices matter greatly in Mass Effect and help to make every player’s experience with the game unique, which makes it even more immersive as an role playing game. While I do not believe I can have anywhere near the same level of interactivity as Mass Effect in my game, I want each player to feel that their choices are important like in Mass Effect, and I want those choices to have a fairly significant impact.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.
