Process on storytelling

I’ve spent a lot on storytelling, I think I have finished my interactive storytelling and maybe I think I need some revise on some parts of my storytelling. Firstly, my story has a preface and a main body, for the preface part is like a introduction about what was going on before players enter the main body. In the preface, players can also make choices to lead them to different beginning of the main body. The problem for me is if players choose some choices that are extreme, then the story will be end before they enter the main body, so I was wondering if it would be abrupt and ridiculous for players.

Secondly, I think some pages are a little bit longer for players to read, I think I’d better make some pages shorter and make some pages longer so that it can make it even and players would not be depressed to read when they look at so many words in one page.

This is my plan to revise my interactive story now. I hope these revisions would make my story more readable and make players more satisfied about my interactive storytelling!

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.

Similar to the second point you mentioned, I also noticed that I made some of my pages pretty long. Especially because I go into a flashback setting that goes into the characters past life. It was hard to make it shorter. Now that I think of it I may go back and revise mine to make it a little shorter. I don’t want to make my players feel bored and unmotivated to continue playing. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one struggling with this! I hope your game comes along and it works out!
