I made some revisions on my interactive storytelling, but not too much. I just made some on the beginning of the story before entering my main body. My interactive storytelling involves two parts, one is preface of the story and the other one is main body of the story. I simplified some parts at the beginning of the story, so that no matter what players choose they can enter the only one main body of the story directly. My original plan is to make two main body of the story so that it would ignite players’ interests if they would like to choose another choice to enter another part of the main body. But I think it would be too much for me to do so since it would be very difficult to master this storytelling and makes it sense too much. In this reason, I choose to simplify the story into one main body, and my original storytelling is to end this story if players choose too extreme choices in the preface, which means this story could be end before entering the main body. I think this could be very cursory for players and would deactivate their interests on the story itself. So I would like to make it one main body no matter what their choices are, these choices won’t have influence on how the story will be going on in the preface, the only function is to make players know what will be happening if they choose extreme choices and alter them that this story will be end at any time if they choose so many extreme choices.

I can definitely relate to simplifying the story. At first, I wanted to do a branching story with 3 or more branches, but due to the time constraint, I only had time to do one. Because of this, I moved pretty far from the idea I had when I was writing my Interactive Story Proposal. But I think it’s these little changes that accumulate while making something that really makes that thing unique and come to life! As I learned how to use Twine, I added more things like click or mouseover or replace hooks, as well as audio and sound effects. Like you mentioned, I wanted to make sure that players are still engaged, even with one storyline.

I had the same problem while I was doing my story, I also changed it up a little bit, which is give my readers limited interactive elements and give them limited choices to go to the story, which makes the story more narrative.
