You stammer, “Well – I actually don’t know how I got here. I woke up here with no memories. I think I had turned into a pigeon? I’m not sure how, but I turned back into a human over there just now-”
The priest looks bewildered at your story. Then something seemed to dawn on him, and he looked like he knew something you didn’t.
“I know how to help you. My daughter struggles with something similar. Let me just go grab something to help.” He quickly left the room, leaving you with an uneasy feeling. You start to leave, but just as you turn your back, you hear him come back. Before you know it, there’s a sharp pinch at the back of your neck.
You fall to the ground and stare up at the priest.
“I’ll never let something like you take her back to that awful place,” he said as he stood over your limp body. “Tell the scientists that sent you that they’re going to hell.”
In the end, you never knew why he had to kill you.
