Nearing completion

So far my interactive story is going rather smoothly. I only have a handful of scenarios to write out as well as the final two endings on the “leave crew” side. The other two endings on the stay within the crew side have been written out.

On the stay in crew ending paths, there is a decision that the player must make in order to decide the fate of Jamie. In the more extreme version there are only two options, either get rid of him or allow him to leave peacefully. However in the less extreme stay in crew path there is a third option that is unlocked from being in that path. Now I don’t have to programming knowledge to write up a program to detect which path the player is on so I made that choice in a sort of archaic way where I just copied the scenario into that path, changed a few words to make it fit better in that path and added the third choice that is only accessible from that path.

I wanted to have more of those choices that are only available if the player is on a specific path (kind of like a skill or alignment check in RPGs), but I couldn’t’ find a natural place to have it anywhere else. If I do come up with something last minute, I’ll be sure to add it in quickly where I think it will fit to add more player interactivity and have them feel like their choices matter more.

If you’ve lost your way in the IFStravaganza, you can always go back to the beginning.
